Halle Bailey is back in her Ariel era. On June 14, the actor posted a picture on her Instagram Stories giving followers a glimpse of her look for the day: a simple black dress and silver-chrome nails. Still, we don’t know if it’s the buzz surrounding her recent role in “The Little Mermaid” or how perfectly suited it is for summer, but we couldn’t keep our eyes off of her hairstyle.

Similar to her character in the movie, Halle’s locs were taken up a notch with the addition of curls at the ends, giving them a boho-chic vibe. Affectionately referred to as goddess locs, it’s a style that Bailey has been spotted in before, as she continues to prove just how versatile locs can be.

Goddess locs have become a staple protective style since being coined by trichologist Kari Williams in 2018. Since then, the look has been spotted on celebrities like Megan Good, Yara Shahidi, and Keke Palmer. Additionally, styles like butterfly locs have risen to popularity thanks to the original. Bailey and her sister, Chloë, are known to play around with their hairstyles, often achieving looks that many deemed impossible due to their natural locs.

Still, whether you’re going the faux route, or like Bailey, have the real style, you can’t go wrong with adding goddess locs to your mood board for the warmer months. Take a closer look at Bailey’s hairstyle below.
